Ryan Santana's been a good friend of mine ever since I helped him out of a tough spot (when Foxbat took over his studio) and has been publishing photos of me and other heroes, usually with a complimentary article or a kind mention here and there. He's given permission for me to use some of his photographs in this book, which I've enspelled to slide around as the reader flicks through these onion-skin pages. Here are some impressive shots of Gadanette having mastered her shielded diamond-skin form. Gadan is what you might call my star student, she's grown exponentially in power and skill since tutoring and accomplished incredible feats. She's surpassed me in telekinesis and telepathic prowess and even outmatched me during our recent underwater combat sparring.
The training session took place just after a partly successful mission with the government. We had been tasked to sweep the Qliphothic realm in search of a lost battalion of UNTIL soldiers. We found them held captive by Demoiselle Nocturne in the Tower of the Edomite where we last saw her master Luther Black. Nocturne is a vengeful spirit and member of DEMON's Inner Circle, who is known for murdering her husband (who first killed her) by entering his body and then wearing it inside-out as her own. The rescue mission was difficult to put it mildly as the entire realm was consumed with an all-destroying darkness, entering what appears to be it's cycle of rebirth. Our mission was in fact compromised by a shocking portal-entry by VIPER's very own Supreme Serpent who's reason for entering the realm is yet to be established. Gadan and I fled the self-induced apocalyptic realm with some of the soldiers and debriefed UNTIL.
