Eva and I finished our patrol in the local social hotspot Club Caprice where we met two very interesting individuals. A vampire called Red who now considered herself, not a demon or vampire hunter but s supernatural peace-keeper, a title I considered admirable for it's rather pacifist and democratic tone. Red shared her tale with us, how she went from career thief who robbed a vampire's house and got turned, to becoming a vampiric career thief. An elevation in status or further degradation in self worth, I chose not to express my disapproval. Despite her thievery, she insisted on a high set of morals which brought her to feed only on animals, no unlike her friend Gary who she mentioned was rather more 'scummy'. Apparently Gary is currently out of town, which is a shame as I would have wanted an audience with him, ascertain where he 'scummily' feeds on the living by force or with willing consent. That's always the trouble with vampires, making sure they're kind is policed and kept in line is just another part of my job.
The other girl was Wraith, a tragic hero as it were. She was kidnapped and tortured by DEMON, a sect of dark magicians and followers of the diabolical Luther Black. Wraith remembers nothing of her life prior to the kidnapping, but she suspects her soul has been ripped from her body and held to ransom while she's sent out into the world of mortals to reap the souls of man and feed them directly to her masters, the Kings of Edom, six ageless and demonic beings of cosmic power forever caged in the dark and hellish world known as the Qliphothic Realm, who seek to break the barriers between worlds and consume all of existence. Wraith sought help from myself and Eva, seeing that we're professional exorcists, and for the good of mankind, her victims and for her, the original victim, we accepted the case. We arranged a date and location to perform an incorcism where we would challenge the demons within her and force them to reveal the location of Wraith's captured soul. If all goes well, we will be able to reach her soul and lead it back to her bod, freeing her from her evil bonds. I should mention that Wraith is commendable in her audacity to defy the Kings of Edom and feed only on demons and other wicked entities, a hero in her own rights. May the good Lord bless her eternal soul, wherever it may be.
